Districts and schools in Colorado that have experienced success with retaining teachers through effective strategies in schools with high-need populations and geographic factors associated with lower retention rates are highlighted in this “Bright Spots” report. Representatives from the five schools across three school districts that were identified as Bright Spots shared their experiences and advice for other teachers, administrators, or district leaders who are seeking ways to address teacher shortages in their areas.
Developed by the Region 12 Comprehensive Center in partnership with the Colorado Department of Education, this document is part of a collection of R12CC resources that support the exploration of how place influences educator shortages and the development and implementation of recommendations and plans to strengthen Colorado’s educator workforce pipeline.
