R12CC welcomes Tracie Corner as the new state co-lead for Colorado. Tracie will provide technical assistance and support for projects focused on dropout prevention and identifying strategies to address educator shortages. Prior to this new role, Tracie served as an internal evaluation team member for both the Region 11 and 12 Comprehensive Centers.
Tracie began her career at McREL International as a research associate supporting research and evaluation projects through conducting literature reviews, qualitative and quantitative data collection, data management, data analysis, and reporting. As a member of the Job Corps career technical training program project team, Tracie supported the redesign of Job Corps programs to reflect current industry credentialing standards and both academic and technical tasks. She also engaged in developmental evaluation activities of a collective impact program and performed curriculum audits of international and local schools.
Prior to her work at McREL, Tracie spent over five years in early childhood education contributing to the management, development, and implementation of Colorado’s Quality Rating and Improvement System, among other projects. She has been a research and evaluation intern for the Colorado Department of Education’s student reengagement and dropout prevention unit, and has supported federally-funded studies focused on increasing active physical play in elementary-age children and helping educators build physical activities into lesson plans. Tracie earned her master’s degree in human development and education with a focus in research and evaluation from the University of Colorado Denver and has a bachelor’s degree in human development from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
